PIA - Design Innovation with FRP Composites - Wednesday 11 February 2009, 6.30 pm

Fibre Reinforced Polymers have become part of the innovative designer´s toolkit. They offer flexibility not possible with traditional materials, enabling structural innovation and new design possibilities.

This seminar will introduce the benefits of using FRP composites for various demanding architectural applications. Presentations will discuss the material options considered for each structure and highlight the reasons FRP composites were chosen. Arguments will focus on performance, cost and sustainability issues.

Presentations are ‘Optimising footbridge design’, ‘Chanel Pavilion - showcase design structure’ and ‘Rescuing a challenging design brief’.

Booking is essential. Places are £4 and include one drink.
